Sand Dune riding has always had a special spot in my heart. St. Anthony is my favorite place to ride sand dunes. Its an amazing place with huge bowls and hill climbs making it seem like you are on a day long roller coaster. There are several prominent features here as well as hundreds of acres of open dunes allowing you to go wherever you want to go.
There is a large open parking area as well as a public campground at Egin Lakes. This is also nicely located centrally in the dunes. There are two RV parks as well that you can reserve ahead of time and offer direct access to the dunes. The nature of dunes are that you can go wherever you want. Here are some photos showing some of the terrain starting out at Egin Lakes which are an interesting contrast to the dunes.
As with all dunes they can be very dangerous. Here are a couple reminders of why you should be safe and be prepared for anything.
The first of the famous areas is Thunder Mountain. Its a good intro into the big dunes but its not overly huge. Its very close to Egin Lakes making it very popular for races. Its hard to give these dunes any scale with photos.
Its not uncommon to have large crowds gather here on summer evenings watching each other race the hill.
The next big feature and my personal favorite is Devils Dune. Its the biggest bowl I have ever seen or ridden. Look at the people at the top for some scale to the size. Its big, its smooth, and its extremely fast where you can do full 6th gear runs off the top. Its a huge rush.

The next is the most famous hill called Choke Cherry Hill, or Choke for short. It's a very steep wall of sand that people love to drag race on.

The last major feature is located right behind Choke and is called Dead Horse Bowl. While not as big as Devils Dune it has a very steep drop off and is a lot of fun!
